Porites corals come in a variety of colors, although, they are not extremely popular in the aquarium trade. They are typically known to be encrusted corals but do shoot out finger like structures from their base.
These corals like moderate to high light and high flow and should be placed somewhere in the middle to upper part of the tank. Of course, you should always maintain proper water parameters by maintaining good calcium, magnesium, and alkalinity levels.

One very unique feature about porites is that they can serve as a host to filter-feeder worms that bore into the coral and extend out into the water current called Christmas Tree Worms.

Although Porites are mainly photosynthetic, relying on the products of their zooxanthellae, they should also be fed phytoplankton and zooplankton, as well as other products like Coral Feast and Reef Energy
